Calabasas is a lively city in Los Angeles County, California with a growing population of 23,123. The name Calabasas derives from the word “pumpkin.” In honor of this the city holds an annual Pumpkin Festival each October.

Calabasas offers a campus of the Soka University of America. Other institutes can be found within 20 miles. Neighboring colleges and universities include Pepperdine University (Malibu), California Lutheran University (Thousand Oaks) University of California (Los Angeles) and Moorpark College (Moorpark). Primary and secondary students are served by the Las Virgenes Unified School District. A few of the larger public schools include Calabasas High, Alice C. Stelle Middle and Lupin Hill Elementary. Calabasas also offer a variety of private schools. Viewpoint School is one option, located at 23620 Mulholland Highway, serving grades KG-12.
Calabasas is a city full of fun with an annual Pumpkin Festival and various forms of recreation. The Calabasas Golf and Country Club offers a beautiful 18-hole course with a par of 72. This private non equity club is located at 4515 Park Entrada. Multiple parks great for outdoor recreation are scattered throughout the city. The Tennis & Swim Center is another popular location. The Center offers fitness facilities, a swimming pool, saunas, 16 tennis courts and a playground. The Adobe structure is one of the cities notable locations worthy of checking out. This building dates all the way back to 1844 making it one of the oldest in the LA area.
